The show is fronted by Chris Gumbley on saxophone and clarinet, whose self-effacing wit, though not exactly having people rolling about in the aisles, nevertheless goes a long way to breaking down any barriers between audience and performer.

Sara Colman, whose beautiful voice provides an articulate, often moving, focal point, acts as a perfect foil, while Al Gurr ‘s supportive, often dazzling, piano never fails to impress.

Ben Markland’s earthy and imaginative double bass completes an impressive line-up.
